This is an RP blog for Henry Lascelles (b. 1768), a character for Susanna Clarke’s novel Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell, an alternate historical setting where magic and fairies are an accepted part of English history.

Lascelles is a moneyed, self-important gentleman who had no profession or particular skill until he latched onto the magician Mr Norrell and became his advisor and friend for the boost it gave to Lascelles’s own position in society. He eventually becomes the editor of a magazine dedicated to disseminating Mr Norrell’s opinions on magic. His goals are to increase Norrell’s importance and to shut out any competition for Mr Norrell’s attention and affection. This includes Norrell's most trusted servant as well as his apprentice Strange.
